Filipina Immigrant 🇵🇭, Manila, New York, and San Francisco

Lydia Ortiz is an illustrator, designer, and art director. She is currently the Lead Designer for picture books at Chronicle Books.

Lydia was born and raised in the Philippines and migrated to the United States when she was 19. She has lived in Manila, New York, and San Francisco.  She shares her creative studio with her photographer husband and crush, Patrick Rafanan, in the San Francisco East Bay, with their cats, Michael Cera and Maybe.
