Vinyl Moon is a completely unique "mixtape" record club that started in 2015 and I couldn't be prouder of all the bands, artists, and members we have worked with. 

Every month we make a unique "mixtape" record of new music, creative artwork, and beautiful deluxe packaging, and ship it to adventurous vinyl lovers (our members!) around the world.

Both music and art are deeply personal. We share what we love and we care deeply about our curation, creations, and the communities of creatives we work with (say that 5 times fast!). Words can't do justice to the VM experience.     Our founder, music curator, and art director (Brandon) searches the globe for the best new music from emerging artists. He then creates mixes of his favorite songs & moods to press onto beautiful colored vinyl. Each monthly "mixtape" is a record that explores and supports exciting musicians.

    ARTWORK, CREATED

    For each record, we work alongside a different visual artist to design an original record artwork experience. We aim to create a visual world within the record jacket that complements the music discovery. An immersive vinyl journey with occasional stops for special features and surprises, of course.

    Every month we send you our newest ultra-deluxe vinyl record "mixtape" pressed with the best new music onto eye-expanding colored vinyl. Each Vinyl Moon record is an out-of-this-world experience crafted to take you on an adventure of sights and sounds. Explore the collection.

    Vinyl Moon is a completely unique record club. Nobody else does exactly what we do. The things that make the club special can also make the club confusing.

    In the meantime, here are some answers to common questions :)

    How is Vinyl Moon different from other record clubs?

    To put it simply: More variety, more discovery, and more creativity.

    MORE VARIETY: The traditional record club format is an "album of the month" format. One album (that already exists) is selected and sent to member each month. We always found that format a bit underwhelming.

    MORE DISCOVERY: Vinyl Moon takes the same idea of sending a record each month, but instead of 1 album from 1 band, we make a mixtape of new music from 10-12 different bands.

    MORE CREATIVITY: We work with a different visual artist each month to create original artwork and deluxe packaging that push the boundaries of the vinyl experience.

    How do you make such unique & deluxe records?

    Step 1. Listen to a LOT of new music.

    Step 2. Invite the bands we love to be a part of Vinyl Moon.

    Step 3: Craft the best fit and flow for songs that work well together and make each other shine.

    Step 4. Work with a creative visual artist on the original artwork packaging.

    Step 5. Make potentially unwise financial decisions on how deluxe we can make the record.

    What music genres do you feature?

    Vinyl Moon doesn't stick to any specific genres – meaning you can expect a wide range of great music. You can expect a varieties of indie rock, dance, electronic, hip hop, folk, and more.

    You wont find much hard rock, jazz, metal, or rap.

    Do you pay the artists?

    Absolutely. Supporting the artists we love is at the core of Vinyl Moon's spirit.

    We license all the songs directly from the bands (or their labels) and pay them directly.

    The same for the visual artists we work with. That collaboration is much more complex and we pay for their beautiful and creative artwork for our records.

    What about “explicit” language?

    Do the records have warnings? Beeps?

    While there may be the occasional “bad” word in the lyrics of a Vinyl Moon song, we don’t give any more or less weighting to songs with potentially offensive material. Everyone has a different definition of “explicit”. We are not the morality police and don’t believe in censoring the artists music. However, every record includes a booklet with lyrics and that makes a good resource for pre-screening any language.

    What if I don't like my first record?

    If you don't love your first record from Vinyl Moon, simply contact us at support(at)vinylmoon.co and we will swap it out for a different record or give you a full refund - no questions asked.
