Visual Artist for Vol. 127: Shiver Me Shingles

Tripper Dungan

Pacific Northwest, USA

Tripper Dungan is a Pacific Northwest artist who uses salvaged wood and acrylic paint to make his colorful, psychedelic, and wryly humorous paintings and sculptures. He is technically self taught, but attended the Las Vegas Academy of Performing and Visual Arts high school and some collage level arts education in Eugene. For a number of years he made abstract and story based shadow puppet shows witch were performed up and down the west coast including at Reed Collage and Evergreen State. Dungan wrote and recorded Ruth the Tooth a children’s book and read along record. He also created Lookie House an interactive house with a face. Dungan’s work appeared in Hi Fructose contemporary art magazine and continues to make 3D paintings and functional musical instrument sculptures in Portland Oregon.
