After attending art school in Bristol and Bournemouth, Johnny Morant has gone on to live and work in London & Amsterdam.He has been part of numerous group exhibitions between the two cities, as well as four solo exhbitions at the Rountree Tryon Gallery in London. This month's volume culls works from Grounded, his fifth solo exhibition, originally presented at the Royal Opera Arcade Gallery. In these works, Johnny explores “the overview effect” - a phenomenon experienced by astronauts during their first views of the Earth as a “pale blue dot” amidst the backdrop of outer space. It commonly leads to a shift in perspective, a breakdown of barriers, and a drive to protect the planet.

:REVIEW: @vinylmoonco Vol.61 "Before You Melt" 2020. . Yesterday I received my very first box from Vinyl Moon and I am thoroughly impressed! I'd seen excellent reviews about them and boy did they deliver. This whole experience was so exciting and I'm amazed at the sheer quality of it all. Right away I noticed how hefty the package was so I knew I was in for a treat. Each month you receive what's basically a mixtape on vinyl with artwork by a different artist that forms together to make a visually/sonically pleasing listening experience. I was immediately in love with @johnnymorant 's artwork, so much so I'm now getting the included posters framed. The music and art combined immediately immersed me into a beautiful world of plants and space exploration. Who knew the two would go hand in hand but it makes perfect sense 👌 The music is flow-y and ambient with a sprinkle of pop that keeps it moving at a nice pace. I really enjoyed discovering all these bands I had not yet had the pleasure of knowing. I could go on & on but I will leave it at that. I'm only one month in and I know for a fact I will be sticking around for more.
