New Body Electric - Self-Titled
Specializing in a danceable variety of electropop replete with funk grooves, falsetto vocals, and guitar leads that recall Room On Fire era Strokes, Portland Oregon's New Body Electric are carving a unique lane in a crowded field. What's more, this independent, self-produced band is paving their own way to great effect. The synth pads are lush, the drums are crunchy, and the easygoing vocals float in a haze of reverb that would make Kevin Parker proud. We've been fans of New Body Electric since they first entered our orbit with an appearance on Vol. 061: Before You Melt. The band returned with a feature on our massive commemorative Vol. 100: Century available now in both standard and VIP variants.
